A bow with a cigarette holder

Ever been irritated by the fact that there is just no good place to put your cigarette while shooting a bow? You can't have the cigarette in the corner of your mouth – the string will snag on it and it messes with your aim. And you can't have it in the bow hand as the arrow will put it out when you shoot. And forget about the string hand – if you got the cigarette pinched there you're going to put it out in your eye when you draw the bow. Many a stout archer has lost an eye due to this dilemma.

Here's the solution. From the latest advances in natural arboreal growth patterns, I give you: the-rotten-twig-left-a-hole system. Can come in larger varieties if cigars is you thing. Or why not make it double as a pencil holder? Or a really, really bad aiming window.

Kidding aside, this is a bow I just finished. Fumed ash, lightly heat treated. 42 pounds at 28 inches, 68 inches nock-to-nock, about 45 mm wide at its widest. Dynamic recurve (meaning the recurves straighten out when you draw the bow). About an inch or so "real" reflex, meaning the tips of the bow rest about an inch in front of the handle right after taking off the string. Total mass is around 505 grams, so it's really light. A bit of sculpting in the handle. Finish is a coat of Danish oil and then bear fat.

I hope you like it!
